Description
Cryptography is only as strong as the encryption modules/algorithms employed to encrypt the data. Use of weak or un-tested encryption algorithms undermines the purposes of utilizing encryption to protect data. Applicable, but permanent not-a-finding - SSH (Protocol 2 is default) is disabled by default (requirement of Lockdown Mode). All versions of VMware products, including all releases of vCenter Server use X.509 certificates to encrypt session information sent over SSL (secure sockets layer protocol) connections between server and client components such as ESXi-v5. CA certs are also addressed in the VMware HG.
