Description

Without a real-time alert, security personnel may be unaware of an impending failure of the audit capability and system operation may be adversely affected. Alerts provide organizations with urgent messages. Real-time alerts provide these messages immediately (i.e., the time from event detection to alert occurs in seconds or less).

Verify that an SMTP Server is defined
Verify that an SMTP Port is defined
Verify that "Report Events via Email" is checked and that at least one email address is defined
Verify that "Report Failures via Email" is checked and that at least one email address is defined

If no email accounts are defined, this is a finding.
