Description
It is critical that when the DBMS is at risk of failing to process audit logs as required, action be taken to mitigate the failure. Audit processing failures include: software/hardware errors; failures in the audit capturing mechanisms; and audit storage capacity being reached or exceeded. If EDB Postgres Enterprise Manager (PEM) is in use, it may be configured to issue an alert, send an email to designated personnel, and shut down the EDB Postgres Advanced Server instance when the audit log mount point is at 99 percent full. Refer to the Supplemental Procedures document, supplied with this STIG, for guidance on configuring PEM alerts.
