Description
Using an authentication device, such as a CAC or token that is separate from the information system, ensures that even if the information system is compromised, that compromise will not affect credentials stored on the authentication device. Check that the "pam_pkcs11.so" option is configured in the "/etc/pam.d/common-auth" file with the following command: # grep pam_pkcs11.so /etc/pam.d/common-auth auth [success=2 default=ignore] pam_pkcs11.so If "pam_pkcs11.so" is not set in "/etc/pam.d/common-auth", this is a finding.
