Overview

Every physical access point to facilities housing workstations that process or display sensitive information or unclassified information that has not been cleared for release is controlled during working hours and guarded or locked during non-work hours.

Threat
All documents, equipment, and machine-readable media containing sensitive data are at risk from unauthorized personnel, access, copying and illegal distribution, if every physical access point is not guarded and locked during non-working hours.

Guidance
1. Every physical access point to facilities housing workstations that process or display sensitive information or unclassified information that has not been cleared for release shall be controlled during working hours and guarded or locked during non-work hours. 2. Authorization to physical access points to facilities shall follow the same guidelines as authorization to the sensitive information or unclassified information that has not been cleared for release on the workstations within those facilities.
