Handheld fire extinguishers or fixed fire hoses are available should an alarm be sounded or a fire be detected.

Threat
Personnel, equipment, media, and documentation are at risk to fire if handheld fire extinguishers or fixed fire hoses are not available.

Guidance
1. Handheld fire extinguishers or fixed fire hoses shall be available should an alarm be sounded or a fire be detected. 2. Handheld fire extinguishers or fixed fire hoses shall be tested on a regular basis in accordance with equipment and manufacturer guidelines. 3. Documentation of all testing procedures shall be stored at the facility. 4. Documentation of all tests performed shall be logged and verified through internal audit verification in accordance with standard operating procedures.
